Computer Vision Tips For Healthy Eyes

Working on a project using a laptop or surfing the Internet using a desktop monitor, your eyes are subject to stress and strain, especially if you are working for hours at a time. It is very important to listen to your body and relax or take a break when the eyes start to feel tired, irritable, or discomfort starts to occur. Here are some tips to keep your eyes fresh when working at the computer and will help with natural vision improvement.

1. Take short breaks for every hour of computer work.
2. Get up, stretch, and breathe deeply when you take that break.
3. Every 15 or 20 minutes, look away from the monitor at something in the distance for a minute.
4. Don’t stare, blink frequently to lubricate the eyes.
5. Yawning is good for avoiding tension in the jaw that can cause eye strain or headaches.
6. Sit up straight, have a comfortable chair with good back support, and keep your feet firmly planted without crossing your legs.
7. Try to avoid monitor glare. Use an anti-glare shield if sunlight or glare on the computer monitor is a problem.
8. Keep the work area bright and well lit.
9. Adjust your monitor for the best viewing angle. Your neck should not be stretching or your posture compromised to see the monitor.
10. Ideally, take a few minutes, and do some relaxation visual exercises and recharge your vision.
